Climbing Weekend

Itinerary

  • Friday

Meet your guides at the campground.

Once at the campground, set up your tent (or your honda hotel), chat with your fellow climbers and hang out by the campfire.

Feel free to arrive anytime after 2PM. A light dinner will be prepared for those making it by dinnertime with snacks for those arriving later.

  • Saturday

Breakfast with the group. Enjoy a self-serve continental breakfast provided by your host. Then, head to the climbing site!

First things first, we’ll discuss all of our gear, go over critical safety rules, and then your instructors will do demo climbs to set up some ropes while talking about belayer and climber techniques.

    Time to climb!

In the afternoon, we’ll talk about footwork techniques and work on some specific problems together.

More climbing until late afternoon, then back to camp to relax and enjoy a great dinner with fresh ingredients cooked by your host.

  • Sunday

Enjoy a relaxing self-serve continental breakfast and coffee provided by your host while gazing at amazing sunrise views. Time permitting, enjoy a short yoga session then back to the crag for one last day of climbing.

Alabama Hills - Lone Pine, CA

  • This event is great for those that are new to outdoor climbing or for those that are intermediate climbers. Routes will range from 5.4 - 5.9. We start on a really low angle slab to build up confidence on the rock and then progress to harder climbs. We will be able to divide the group up if ability levels vary.

  • Friday Night

Meet your camp host at Tuttle Creek Campground out of Lone Pine, CA

Climbing will take place at different areas around the epic Alabama Hills over the weekend. This area is great for spring and fall climbing since the low desert gets extremely hot during mid-summer. October is a great time for really warm days but chilly evenings.

Granite Basin - Lee Vining, CA

  • This event is great for those that have intermediate level climbing skills. For those that are new to outdoor climbing, you should be comfortable climbing indoor routes over 5.7 as routes here will range from 5.7 - 5.10.

  • This is one of the spots if you wanna climb in the Eastern Sierra and not get scorched by high temps. Granite Basin sits at an elevation of 7,700 feet so while you can expect bright sunny days, the air will be cooler than the desert. Evenings will also be very mild.

    Friday Night

Meet your guides Oh Ridge campground in June Lake, CA

You will then carpool to the climbing area the next day. Granite Basin, off of 120 east in the Sagehen Summit area just below Mono Lake is a wonderful hidden gem.
