You’ll then be staying across the street pt Upper Pines Campground, your weekend base camp. Your camp host will have some afternoon treats and beverages ready for you to enjoy when you get back from the hike. Settle in, grab a hammock and relax until your delicious dinner is ready.

Enjoy the rest of the evening sitting around the campfire.

Today we’ll wake up and enjoy hot breakfast and coffee, and then pack for our day hike!

We’ll be heading to the hiker bus that will take us up towards Tuolumne. Along the way we’ll enjoy views from Olmstead Point while we travel toward our day hike. We’ll set off for some high sierra lakes and enjoy picnic lunch on the trail before catching the bus back to camp.

When we make it back to camp for the evening your host will prepare an evening meal, and you’ll have another night of stargazing, s’more eating, cocoa drinking, and chatting with your new friends!

Activity, Fitness & Skills

  • Campground stay with day hikes.

  • This trip is rated Beginner-Intermediate. Although this rating is low, the day hikes may be challenging for those that do not have good physical fitness. Conditioning is key to the enjoyment the hikes planned as there is considerable elevation gain.

  • To maximize your enjoyment of the trip, we strongly encourage participants to be involved in a training regimen before the trip, that ideally includes some training hikes with a weighted pack. We also recommend that you stay well hydrated prior to departure to assist in mitigating altitude sickness. Most important to your enjoyment of the trip is your overall fitness level.

  • If an attendee prefers to opt-out of the listed day hike and remain at camp, that is perfectly okay.

Accommodations & Meals

2 Nights at Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley.
